Oliver Marti Named Head Coach for the 2022 USA Junior Indoor Team
NEW YORK, NY — U.S. Indoor Lacrosse announced Oliver Marti as the Head Coach of the 2022 USA Junior Indoor Team which will compete in the 2022 IIJL World Junior Lacrosse Championship. Marti, a former Team Canada player and NLL player, currently President of the NLL Albany Firewolves and the Connecticut Collegiate Box Lacrosse League.
Marti attended Brown University graduating with a double major in economics and business management in 1993. As a member of the Brown men’s lacrosse team he set NCAA records for most goals in a game and ranks fifth all time in average goals per game. With his leadership in his first season Brown won the Ivy League Championship.
Marti was an important part of the 1994 Canadian National team capturing the bronze medal in Manchester England, Marti was awarded MVP in the Bronze medal game as they defeated England 25-10.
In 1994, Oliver was drafted and played in the Major Indoor Lacrosse League (MILL) now known as the NLL for the New York Saints, the indoor game (Box) was his first love beginning in the early 90’s playing for the Richmond Outlaws and New Westminster Salmonbellies of the Western Lacrosse Association, competing in the Minto Cup and in 1992 the Mann Cup.

Oliver’s role with US Indoor will be critical in recruiting and developing a competitive roster for all of the IIJL World Lacrosse Championships”, said President of US Indoor Lacrosse Graham D'Alvia.
The 2022 IIJL World Junior Indoor Lacrosse Championship will take place at the Bells Centre Arena, Winnipeg, Canada on August 8-14th, 2022, featuring team such as Australia, Canada, Iroquois, Israel, and United States with more being added.
The final USIL Junior roster will be comprised of talented, up-and-coming lacrosse players who have a strong worth ethic, willingness to work within a teams, and will have promising results at international events and high-level domestic events. Tryouts beginning in January 2022.
