USA TEAMS

In 2006, USA Indoor Lacrosse launched a new initiative called the USA Indoor lacrosse National Development Program (NDP).

The program in 2006 was designed to develop indoor lacrosse players 21 years of age and above, the team competed in the United States and Canada participating in multi international events annually. The US Development Team schedule for each year, included training camps and Exhibition games concluding with a US Indoor Lacrosse Combine and Exhibition game, where players showcased their Box lacrosse skills. The Combine and exhibition game were attended by NLL and PLL General Managers and Coaches, all events were filmed and sent to GM’s and Coaches.

Unlike other competitive athletic teams, the success of the NDP is not gauged on wins and losses. Instead, the focus is on the development of skills and acquiring experience against advanced competition. The goal is to prepare the athlete for a career on a Professional Player.

In 2014, USIL launched a new initiative focusing on the Junior Indoor Development Program. The goal of this full-time Junior Indoor development program is to prepare student-athletes for participation on College Teams, U.S. National Teams, Professional Teams and overall success with their future lacrosse careers. Its efforts focus not only on high-caliber play on the turf, but helping with the development of well-rounded individuals off the field. US Indoor Lacrosse is proud to represent the USA in the International Indoor Junior Lacrosse Association - IIJL.

In 2022, USIL is proud to have all three teams competing in the IIJL World Lacrosse Championships, the Junior Team (U21) in August winning the Bronze Medal. The USA U16 Indoor Team competed in September and The USA U18 Indoor Team competed in October winning the Silver Medal.

In 2023, USIL has introduced the USA Women’s Junior Indoor Team (U21). The team will begin tryouts in June 2023 and training camps to follow during the summer.

USIL has started a plan to bring Organizations/Clubs under the umbrella of the USIL NDP. The coaches and organization heads will help train and develop the best players in the country, This program is about building relationships so the USA Indoor player can get better. USIL will identify Verified Organizations to be under this umbrella during the spring of 2023.

In 2023 USIL will offer a range of opportunities from player identification clinics to training academies operating in various locations around the country.
